Who is Willow Rose?
Born on a Halloween morning to a loud social family, Willow is the youngest of 4 children. She was different from the pack right from the start. Loved and adored by all of us, she grew to be our shy little beauty, more comfortable with animals than people and chose to speak only to those she favored. Who was this mysterious child that hid behind her mane of long black curls?
Willow grew up quietly in an animated household. She was always present but chose the background rather than the forefront. If she spoke it was deep or not at all. This child was certainly not a follower, but she wasn’t a leader either. She was on her own path and never really veered into anyone else’s. Whatever she did from her young years to this day was her own way, never obstinate or rude, mind you.
It was evident early that we had a child very connected to the spirit of animals. Experiences too numerous to mention, too strange to explain. She loved all animals but moreover, they loved her. And not just the domestic kind! The relationship Willow had with all animals in her realm was mysterious.
Willow has the innate ability to absorb all the wisdom around her; be it from old folks, children, peers, animals, books, nature, google - all the world has to offer. She is a magnet for ancient and modern knowledge. She seeks advice and respects
what she hears. I am amazed at Willow’s ability to incorporate up to date information, modern medicine with age old wisdom and midwifery magic. That is the very essence our Willow Rose.
As the adult world took our little girl she married a man that matched her completely. He had little connection to animals, scoffed at ancient wisdom and laughed at midwifery magic! But he loved her and believed in her, and that’s all that really matters. Their journey took them through dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, wild baby animals nursed to health, chickens, ducks, reptiles, and 4 wild and wonderful children. Laughably Willow relates to all species on her own level, whether you are her parent, her spouse, her pet, her kids, old, young, needy or wealthy – you get the same Willow. There are no variations. Not only her boxers, but all species of animals in Willow’s life are nurtured with love. Her inherit connection to her animals (and children) is as unique as she is. When she was but a teen, I bought a piece of artwork from a woman named Willow; it was of a witchy woman walking with a staff surrounded by dogs. This piece of artwork is entitled “Woman Who Runs With Dogs” and I can honestly say, my daughter Willow Rose has brought this art to life.
